Mel Robbins, wrote a best-selling book called The 5 Second Rule: Transform your Life, Work, and Confidence with Everyday Courage.
Her strategy is to help you move yourself out of inaction into action in 5-4-3-2-1 seconds. When you start to feel stuck, pause and countdown from 5. Once you reach 1, it’s time to make a decision and act. That act could be as simple as 5-4-3-2-1 “Get Out of Bed” or 5-4-3-2-1 “Make That (Scary) Sales Call”. The idea is to move you out of stuckness and insecurity and into taking the leap and doing something.
It’s a simple idea yet very effective when fear, worry and doubt creep into your thoughts.
